The Process

What is Mindfulness Based Core Process Therapy?

In Core Process Psychotherapy, mindfulness (or awareness of) physical sensations, mental constructs and emotional experience is used in order to become more clear about what our experience is, and to trace the difficulty in question to its source. Sometimes it helps us just to be with raw emotion without turning away, or to. notice in what ways we do this.

The “Core” of Core process may be described as the natural condition of inherent wellness that we all possess no matter what, no matter how seemingly hidden to us it might be by circumstance or our thoughts at the time: our basic goodness.

The way I work is with the experience of relationship and embodied mindfulness. I may ask how it is to have me witness your process, or I might ask you to turn your attention to the sensations in your body, to bring awareness to the information that may arise from there. All of the information that enters a session is useful, and it is my belief and experience that what arises is there to be met and cared for.

How I work:

Psychotherapy sessions last for an hour and are usually weekly. The consistency of weekly sessions fosters a sense of continuity of support and allows the work to develop more fully.

If we decide to work together after our introductory consultation, we would meet for an initial 6 weekly sessions. After this time we can review how the work has been, and if we agree to continue we can meet for as long as you feel you need.

Fees:

The initial consultation is 45 minutes and free of charge. It is an introduction so you can get a sense of me and how I work, and for me to get a sense of what you might want to address as a client.

As a Psychotherapist in training, I am charging £30 pounds, a reduced rate.

I accept BACS transfer in advance of the session, or cash on the day.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or issues you might like to discuss prior to meeting.
